Detecting DoS attacks against DNS

Hi all,
First of all let me introduce myself. My name is Samaneh Rastegari. I
am pursuing my master degree and I am currently in my third semester of studies.

My central course of study deals with network security particularly on Domain Name Servers. I have a keen interest in denial of service attacks against DNS. I have read and studied many related works in the current literature.

I have a problem for doing my methodology because I could not find any proper dataset of DNS traffic and I hope you will be able to assist me in some manner. I need the collected DNS traffic data under attacks (both queries and responses) to use as the input of an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) to identify different types of attacks against DNS. I wanted to simulate the architecture of the DNS and monitor both DNS requests and responses using this simulation, so I really need some generated modules in ns2 for doing my work. As I tried to simulate DNS architecture in ns2 this network simulator doesn’t support DNS so if you can help me in this area please let me know. I will anxiously await your reply.
