- MAODV on newer versions of NS and Linux
Hi all, I am able to implement MAODV in RedHat 9 on ns 2.26 package. But are there any latest MAODV versions available so that to implement it on ns 2.31 or 2.33. Also the OS redhat 9 is outdated, is there any chance of implementing any version of Multicast AODV (MAODV) protocol on some Fedora or Ubuntu? Thanks
Since the versoin of MAODV you are using is meant for ns 2.26, running it on ns2.26 only be the easy choice. Further, ns 2.26 can be installed on old Red Hat linux versions without any problem. – Now you are spending your efforts in correct direction. -It is the best way of doing this.
You can possibly compile ns2.26 successfully on resent versions of Fedora or Ubuntu just by using old version of gcc and correcting some errors. – But I will not prefer it.
You may use a resent version of ns2 on Fedora or Ubuntu – but in that case, the MAODV patch will fail. You may compile ns2 with MAODV by applying the MAODV patch manually (if possible) and correct some errors. – But certainly it will require lot of effort.
Nice to see a response! Yes of course I tried forums but the answer is “MAODV is ages old and only available for 2.26”. That’s no problem..Can you help me on one more topic? Can i install JAVA support on RedHat 9? You may heard of the JAVA NANS tools (The network analyzer for Trace formats), i want NANS on Redhat 9! Kindly reply me ASAP if you know about JAVA installation on RedHat 9? Thanks in Advance
